Our YWCA play ground fund raising effort has reached our original goal of $25,000. So far we have received $21,900 in contributions, plus $2,450 in matches from Gary Rotary Club, and the grant from Rotary District 6540 of $2,400, taking us to $26,750. "Ask" letters have been sent to over 60 potential business/organization donors with a favorable response from fifteen, and commitments from several others for a donation in 2022. With these great results, the organizing committee is considering raising the goal to $35,000 to improve the surface of the playground, as well as expanding the "naming" opportunities for donors.
